We’d now like to take a moment with one of Click Communications’ veteran staffers, Dre Birskovich, to learn a little more about where she came from and how she gets by in the world of Click.  With the winter season upon us, there’s nothing better than the crackle of a roaring fire. Let us begin.

What is your favorite thing about working at Click? The people, hands down. From my awesome Click teammates to the journalists and bloggers we get to work with, the people that I’ve met, worked and hung out with are the best!

What skill has been most valuable to you while working here at Click? Well, I was a Communications major in college, but when I was studying, it always seemed so intuitive like common sense. I’ve learned not to take my skills as a communicator for granted in my job. Reaching out to so many different folks with such diverse interests, it’s become a fun challenge to try to reach and connect with people using appropriate language, assets, and products. My communication skills also come in handy as the majority of our work is done via email or in phone calls.

What would you consider to be your area of specialty? I’ll tell what I’ve been told my specialties are. When I first started with Click- nearly 4 years ago- I started cutting my teeth by pitching Disney Channel releases. I was constantly digging up new Teen and Tween sites and reaching out to them to cover, as they were the core demographic for my titles. I also have a bit of an addiction to celebrity gossip, so I really wasn’t so far removed from the demo in terms of our shared interest. As my campaigns started to build in size, I became known as the Tween Whisperer at Click.

More recently, we’ve seen the surge in popularity and opportunities to work with the blogger community. As I’ve worked mostly on family-oriented products, and our clients have become increasingly more interested in partnering with bloggers, I’ve really delved deep into the world of Parenting Bloggers. These relationships have become some of my most treasured, and I’m now being called the Mommy Whisperer at Click!

In my opinion, I think that my specialty is really my interest and immersion with the audiences for the products we get to work on. It’s like learning a new language, and when I start to get fluent, I can reach people in new and fun ways!

What is the best part of your workday? The best part of my work day is when I get an email from a journalist or blogger that says, ‘Thanks so much for all that you do. We loved the opportunity to work on this campaign with you!’ When you work with hundreds outlets on a single campaign, it’s that kind of appreciation that really keeps you going.

I also love seeing a pitch I’ve written pop-up on sites across the web. If I’ve written something that is cute or humorous or compelling enough that folks think it’s worthy to simply re-post on their site to help promote my clients, I feel pretty proud of that

What is the best advice you have ever received? “Tis better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission.” My first job out of college was in a boutique retail ad agency, and media deadlines always seemed to come up quickly when my clients were unavailable for consultation. My boss always said to me, “Don’t wait; take action! I can apologize for you if you make a mistake, but I can’t apologize for your inability to act.”

What websites do you frequent the most that aren’t necessarily work-related? Um, do I have to answer this??

Okay, well, I like gossip so TheSuperficial.com is an excellent source for photographic evidence of the latest celeb blunders, and PerezHilton.com has made it possible for me to give up all weekly tabloid subscriptions. I also like Mashable and HuffingtonPost for my “real” news. Social networking can also nab a significant portion of my free time, as well as exploring new apps on my iPhone 4s.

If I looked in your DVR, what would I find? DVR? What the heck is that? I just got cable after 7 years of going without- HA! In my Netflix queue, you will find The Walking Dead, Parenthood, RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Tutors and Intervention among my TV selections.

What book are you currently reading and what else might one find on your shelves? Currently, I’m reading Comfortably Numb: The Inside Story of Pink Floyd by Mark Blake out loud to my brother. I’m listening to an audiobook for When Giants Walked the Earth: A Biography of Led Zeppelin by Mick Wall in the car. I also really enjoyed reading The Help and Portia de Rossi’s biography Unbearable Lightness: A Story of Loss and Gain this past summer.

Where in the world is your favorite place to travel or spend a dream vacation? I LOVE the beach, so for a short weekend getaway I love driving up the coast to meet my best friend at her parents’ place in Pismo Beach for a weekend of yoga, walks on the sand, ocean gazing and family home cookin’. If I’m throwing the budget to the wind, I adore Greece and Hawaii, and would very much like to experience Costa Rica and the Caribbean.

Obligatory superpower question: What would it be & why? Flying. I’ve dreamed of weaving around city skyscrapers and soaring over the ocean with a flock of pelicans for as long as I can remember. I don’t need wings or a special cape, just hollow bones. : )

In her free time, you can find Dre bustin' a move at the local roller rink.

We’d now like to take a moment with one of Click Communications’ excellent Partners, Dinah McLean, to learn a little more about where she came from and how she gets by in the world of Click.  With the Fall season upon us, we’re reminded that there’s nothing better than the crackle of a roaring fire. Let us begin.

What is your favorite thing about working at Click? I love it when we get thank yous and positive feedback about the Click Team from our clients and press. Mac and I have worked hard to cultivate a specific culture here at Click. While feedback can be a rare thing, I feel like we often hear about how much our team’s passion, expertise, professionalism and speed have contributed to our clients’ and press partners’ success. To me, that means we’re doing something right.

What skill has been most valuable to you while working here? Since 2003, I’ve been a leader of some form of remote team, either managing the “virtual office” of Click or, before that, as the Sales & Marketing Director for Ticketmaster’s Western Region. Managing a team of telecommuters definitely requires a very specific skill set that I’ve honed over the years, and I have learned that there are three key secrets to success: Communication, communication, communication.

What would you consider to be your area of specialty? I’m definitely way more into the musicals than my fellow Clickers, and would also consider myself a go-to person to consult on anything relating to classical music, cooking shows & chefs, dance films and shows, teen comedies and the 90s. I’m also Click’s resident “data geek,” so I specialize in our reporting, analytics and all things Excel. (And I do use Excel for almost all things.)

What is the best part of your workday? Working with my husband. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in work, in life, in crime… The fact is, Mac McLean is an online publicity genius, and in addition to being someone that I respect and learn from every day, he’s also just the best man I know. And hearing his loud laugh in the other room never fails to make me smile.

What websites do you frequent the most that aren’t necessarily work-related? After years of working with parenting sites and blogs for Click’s clients, now that I’m a mom I find myself going online regularly to seek the advice offered up by the mighty Moms of the Internet.

Dinah with her other baby/job/obsession, Duncan.

What is the best advice you have ever received? My dad’s advice on how to write a really kickass cover letter is stellar and timeless. It opened countless doors for me throughout my career, plus I keep it in mind when reviewing applications to Click. (Take note, would-be Clickers.)

Who’s your favorite celebrity you’ve ever met?

This Guy!

What book are you currently reading and what else might I find on your shelves? Ready Player One by Ernest Cline: it’s super geeky 80’s-tastic, and I am enjoying the hell out of it. Mac & I also started up a Comic Book Club with some fellow geeks (it’s just like book club, where you read books & discuss over wine, only with comics, and it’s awesome), and we just finished the gorgeous Daytripper by Gabriel Ba and Fabio Moon. Our current assignment is Astro City by Kurt Busiek.

If I looked in your DVR/BD player, what would I find? Fall TV! I am very excited to try on some of the new offerings this fall (Terra Nova, Grimm, Once Upon a Time) but am also excited to see my old friends return: Dexter, Castle, Bones, Modern Family, Glee, Grey’s Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, Community… I’m actually not sure when I’m going to watch all of these, now that I think of it.

Dexter

Where in the world is your favorite place to travel or spend a dream vacation? Right now, any vacation would be a dream vacation! There are countless corners of the world that I want to explore, but if I’m being totally honest my favorite places on the planet are the Colorado Rocky Mountains and the Big Island of Hawaii. California’s wine country is pretty sweet, too.

Obligatory super power question: What would it be and why? Oh, how I wish I could teleport. My beloved family and friends live all over the globe, and I miss them like crazy. My dream would be to be able to teleport me, Mac & Duncan to Colorado for Sunday night supper with my parents & brother one weekend, pop by to watch Glee with my nieces in Washington on Tuesday, maybe teleport my friend Mikey out from DC to have some dinner with us on Friday, then spend Saturday at the Toledo Zoo with my sister Matti & her family, then Sunday football in Minnesota with my sister Amy & her family. Actually, that’s a lot of family time; I might have to spread that out a little. But you know what I mean.

We’d now like to take a moment with one of Click Communications’ excellent staffers, Tyler Gagnon, to learn a little more about where he came from and how he gets by in the world of Click.  It may be nice and warm out, but there’s still nothing better than the crackle of a roaring fire. Let us begin.

What is your favorite thing about working at Click? My favorite thing about Click beyond the amazing crew of Clicksters is how my superiors value my input and ideas.

What skill has been most valuable to you while working here at Click? I am fairly tech-savvy, which has helped with the learning curve of working in online publicity.

What is the best part of your workday? My late afternoon coffee, which gives me a moment to relax and an extra boost to power through until the end of the day.

Which work event has been the most fun for you to be involved in? When Click sponsored the Entertainment Aids Alliance event. I am fairly new to the company and it was a great opportunity for me to get to know my fellow Clicksters.

What is the best advice you have ever received? People can only do to you what you let them do.

What are some of your favorite movies? Clerks, Pulp Fiction, Army of Darkness, Back to the Future. I could keep going and going.

If I looked in your DVR/BD player, what would I find? Breaking Bad on Blu-ray.

What book are you currently reading and what else might I find on your shelves? I am currently reading Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis. On my shelf you would find some Tony Fletcher, the Harry Potter series, and The Lord of the Rings.

Where in the world is your favorite place to travel or spend a dream vacation? I have always wanted to go to the Norwegian fjords, such as Hordaland or Sogn & Fjordane. To see what I mean, Google image search “the fjords Norway.”

Tyler in Orvieto, Italy

Obligatory super power question: What would it be and why? The ability to fly. Besides being totally awesome, it is economical and green. No more high priced plane tickets or gas prices.

We’d now like to take a moment with one of Click Communications’ excellent staffers, Brigid D’Arcy, to learn a little more about where she came from and how she gets by in the world of Click.  The colder weather is starting to roll in, and there’s nothing better than the crackle of a roaring fire. Let us begin.

What is your favorite thing about working at Click? The people I get to work with! Also, I really enjoy brainstorming and coming up with creative ideas for each campaign.

What skill has been most valuable to you while working here at Click? I am a very organized person and I think this attribute has helped me make my deadlines and produce some great campaigns.

What would you consider to be your area of specialty? Creative angles. I really enjoy the creative process.

What is the best part of your workday? The morning when I prioritize my day. And when I get to check projects off of my to do list.

Which work event has been the most fun for you to be involved in? I really enjoyed attending the It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia Premiere and Season 4 DVD Release Party as I am a huge fan of the show.

What is the best advice you have ever received? Do not make excuses and take pride in your work.

What are some of your favorite movies? Bonnie and Clyde, Inglourious Basterds, Mermaids, The Hurt Locker, Edward Scissorhands. I could go on forever.

Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty as Bonnie & Clyde

If I looked in your DVR/BD player, what would I find? Breaking Bad

What book are you currently reading and what else might I find on your shelves? A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. On my shelves you would find a lot of Bret Easton Ellis, Jay McInerney and Charles Dickens.

Where in the world is your favorite place to travel or spend a dream vacation? I love the beach so anywhere tropical by the ocean is perfect for me. I also want to visit Ireland.

Brigid stands in the Las Vegas sun.

Obligatory super power question: What would it be and why? I would want to be able to teleport. I could escape danger super fast, and visit friends and family whenever I wanted to.

We’d now like to take a moment with one of Click Communications’ excellent staffers, Sarah Henness, to learn a little more about where she came from and how she gets by in the world of Click.  The kids are all tucked into bed and we have some time to chat in front of the roaring fire. Let us begin.

What is your favorite thing about working at Click? I really enjoy the people that I work with. Their enthusiasm is intoxicating and makes my job that much more enjoyable. I also enjoy the ability to adjust my work schedule according to the needs of my kids.

What skill has been most valuable to you while working here at Click? I pride myself on being a detail-oriented person. Having that kind of focus makes it easier for me to make sure that we are presenting our best face and producing something that we can be proud of.

What would you consider to be your area of specialty? Continuity. My job is to make sure that we are presenting a consistent product. I work with a fabulous group of people who all have a unique approach to what they do. My job is to make it gel and come together in a cohesive way.

What is the best part of your workday? Uploading the finished product. It is a very fulfilling feeling to finish something and get it off your to-do list. Receiving appreciative emails from my coworkers regarding said completion is pretty nice too.

Which work event has been the most fun for you to be involved in? The annual Click Anniversary party is a lot of fun. I live 2 hours away from the rest of the gang (aside from Scott who is considerably further away) and it is always nice to see everyone.

What is the best advice you have ever received? Trust your judgment and, when in doubt, stick with the tools you’ve been given.

What are some of your favorite movies? Oh, goodness… so many to chose from: Pride & Prejudice (A&E edition); The Holiday; The Ghost and the Darkness; The Return of the King Extended Edition; Amelie; Anything Robin Hood; The Day After Tomorrow (guilty pleasure); The Shawshank Redemption; Seven Brides for Seven Brothers; Up; Persuasion. I could go on for days, but we’ll go with those for now. Next week they could be different.

Colin Firth in Pride & Prejudice

If I looked in your DVR/BD player, what would I find? Most of it is what comes on when we are trying to get the kids to bed… Bones, CSIs; Project Runway; The Glades. Also there are some things that my 3 year old is addicted to… Okay, mostly it is episodes of Phineas and Ferb including last year’s Christmas special.

What book are you currently reading and what else might I find on your shelves? I am currently rereading the Harry Potter Series before the next movie comes out… I am on Book six right now (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince). Other than that, I have The Complete Jane Austen Collection; The Twilight Series; Kathy Reichs novels; some Tom Clancy and Vince Flynn. I don’t get a lot of time to read with two ankle biters running around.

Where in the world is your favorite place to travel or spend a dream vacation? Favorite place I have ever been was New Zealand. It is an absolutely breathtaking place. The Lord of the Rings trilogy did a pretty good job of capturing the beauty, but being there is even better. It just feels so clean and fresh. It is the most amazing and beautiful and gorgeous and awesome place I have ever been… and I have been to a lot of places. As for a dream vacation, it is a tie between Egypt and Antarctica. I want to go to both of them really bad… really, really bad.

Sarah with her little munchkins!

Obligatory super power question: What would it be and why? The ability to be in 2 places at once. I have 2 kids, need I say more?

We’d now like to take a moment with one of Click Communications’ excellent staffers, Scott Neumyer, to learn a little more about where he came from and how he gets by in the world of Click.  It will soon be getting chilly on the east coast where Scott resides, and the best way to fight the cold is in front of a nice roaring fire.  Let us begin.

What is your favorite thing about working at Click? My bosses and co-workers! It may sound trite, but it’s true as can be. The people I work alongside with not only help me be a better Publicist, but they also make my job fun, exciting, and insanely rewarding. Plus, we get to work with awesome movies, clients, and press!

What skill has been most valuable to you while working here at Click? Passion. It’s all about the passion. I’ve always been the kind of person who can’t help but spread the word about the things I love; whether it’s movies, books, technology, or anything else. If I dig something, you’ll be the first to know it. That kind of passion has been invaluable to me as a publicist and makes me care more and more for every single project we work on at Click.

What would you consider to be your area of specialty? Technology is definitely my area of specialty. I’m all about finding ways to use technology to help us all do our jobs more efficiently and successfully. If you’re talking about a specialty movies-wise, it would definitely be the horror genre. I’m a horror geek through and through.

For fun, I’d say writing and photography. If you know me, you know I always have either a laptop or a camera in my hand. All of my friends are used to having my camera lens in their face at all times.

What is the best part of your workday? That very first email-check in the morning. It’s like opening your presents on Christmas morning.

Which work event has been the most fun for you to be involved in? Our annual Click Anniversary parties are always the highlight of the year. Though I’m always here in New Jersey, I hop into the party “via satellite” (i.e. iChat) and it’s great to see the entire Click crew assembled together in one spot.

What is the best advice you have ever received? Two things: 1) Don’t provide excuses. Just get it done. 2) Never argue with a fool because you’ll never win. They all argue purely with opinion.

What are some of your favorite movies? How long do we have? Some of my all-time favorites are: The Silence of the Lambs, Brazil, Monster Squad, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Il Conformista, Magnolia, Once Were Warriors, Night of the Living Dead, The DescentUndertow, and so many more. Keep in mind that this list changes just about every single time I’m asked this question.

Hannibal Lecter's Gaze from The Silence of the Lambs

If I looked in your DVR/BD player, what would I find? Right at this moment? Mostly stuff that my 20-month-old daughter is watching (The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland, which features a star turn by the great Mandy Patinkin as the evil Huxley). Usually? The Netflix Instant Watch disc. More recently, you could find the following in there: Survival of the Dead Blu-ray, Hot Tub Time Machine Blu-ray, Bigger Than Life: Criterion Blu-ray, The Brothers Bloom Blu-ray, and Sisters: Criterion DVD.

What book are you currently reading and what else might I find on your shelves? I’m currently reading two things: 1) The book that I’m actually in called Wanted Undead or Alive: Vampire Hunters and Other Kick-Ass Enemies of Evil by Jonathan Mayberry and Janice Gable Bashman. 2) What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami because it’s about both running and writing, which I dig. Other recent titles on my Kindle that I’ve read include: Extra Lives: Why Video Games Matter by Tom Bissell, How Did You Get This Number by Sloane Crosley, Freak Magnet by Andrew Auseon, and The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake: A Novel by Aimee Bender.

Where in the world is your favorite place to travel or spend a dream vacation? Stone Harbor, NJ. Yup, the Jersey Shore. No, not that horrendous one that you see on MTV every week. This is the real Jersey Shore. It’s a quiet, sleepy town near the southern tip of New Jersey and it’s the most amazingly tranquil place ever. It’s my favorite place in the world. Our family spends a week there every summer. I proposed to my wife on the beach there, and we spent our honeymoon there. Stone Harbor is my little slice of Heaven.

Scott in Stone Harbor, NJ during Summer 2010

Obligatory super power question: What would it be and why? Sookie Stackhouse style telepathy! I want to know what everyone is thinking at all times!

We’d now like to take a moment with one of Click Communications’ excellent staffers, Emily Ronkar, to learn a little more about where she came from and how she gets by in the world of Click.  Learning from past mistakes, a fireside chat was much better during the summer when not lit.  Let us begin.

What is your favorite thing about working at Click?
Working at Click has given me even more reason to love movies.  Never in a million years would I have guessed that someone would pay me do what I loved.  My absolute favorite thing about working at Click, though, would have to be the people. Everyone at Click is so unique and nerdy in his or her own way and yet so accepting of everyone else’s unique rhythms. It always provides a fun environment.

What skill has been most valuable to you while working here at Click?
A sense of humor, hands down.  Whether things are going your way or you feel like the whole world is against you (I’m talking to YOU, Mondays), a sense of humor will always make the situation easier.

What would you consider to be your area of specialty?
Professionally, I get to work on a lot of  TV on DVD.  It’s fun to pull scenes while I watch both shows I love as well as shows I normally wouldn’t sit down to view, so my knowledge of TV is extensive.  Due to the sheer amount of material, it also provides a nice wide range of bonus material to satisfy any area of interest.  I also enjoy many of the Jerry Bruckheimer films; the action-focused behind-the-scenes bonus are always fun to watch and make you feel like you’re being let in on all the secrets of film-making.

For fun, I’m a huge fan of British TV and film, so I enjoy really off-kilter shows such as “Spaced,” “Coupling,” “Young Ones” or “The IT Crowd.” I’m also particular to the jovial sarcasm and wit offered in British cinema, most particularly in films such as Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Closer or Trainspotting. And of course, nothing soothes the nerves better than a classic Jane Austen story of bumbling romance; somewhere deep inside, I am still a sappy 13 year old girl.   It will be our secret.

What is the best part of your workday?
The first couple of hours before, and as, people start trickling in and answering e-mails.  It’s so quiet, just my coffee and me.  The day still holds the promise of productivity and my to-do list is at its shortest.

Which work event has been the most fun for you to be involved in?
Can I pick two?  No?  Well I will anyway.

Our annual Click Anniversary party is a lot of fun.  We get to spend some quality time together as a team with our out of town Clickers.  And it’s always fun to meet and spend a little time with our press, whom I don’t normally get to work directly with.

Secondly, Comic-Con.  This year was my second Comic-Con and the experience keeps getting better, and after each one, my plan of attack changes a little.  Yes, it’s crowded, and by the end of the week a bit smelly and apparently stabby (Hall H.  Get it together), but any event that celebrates nerds to the Nth degree is all right by me.  Let your freak flag fly.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
From a friend/former employer: “Just fix it.”  No matter what the problem, standing around with your hands in your pocket picking apart the issue or passing the puck doesn’t solve the problem any faster.   Just fix it.

What are some of your favorite movies?
This list is extensive, but here are a few: Shaun of the Dead, Pirate Radio, Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge, Pride & Prejudice (the six-hour A&E version), Princess Bride and Disney’s Robin Hood.  If you’re looking for a pattern, or favorite genre, let me know how that works out for you.

“As Mr. Sloan always says, there's no 'I' in team, but there is an 'I' in pie. And there's an 'I' in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team...I don't know what he was talking about.”

If I looked in your DVR/BD player, what would I find?
You’d have good odds to assume it’s British.  Most likely Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Persuasion or Pirate Radio.  I’m also a huge fan of TV on DVD, so it’s also possible you’ll find Criminal Minds or Bones.

What book are you currently reading and what else might I find on your shelves?
I’m usually reading three books at a time.  Currently, Killing the Shadows by Val McDermid, The Other Queen by Philippa Gregory, and Easy Riders, Raging Bulls: How the Sex-Drugs-and-Rock ‘N’ Roll Generation Saved Hollywood by Peter Biskind.  I recently finished the comic Fables based on Mac’s suggestion, which I loved!  Most of what you’d find on my shelves are murder thrillers and historical fiction with a specific focus on the Tudor family.  Oh, and every bookshelf staple: Harry Potter.

Where in the world is your favorite place to travel or spend a dream vacation?
This one also has two answers:

Favorite place: London.  An amazing city that opens up new doors and wonders every time I visit.  Wonderful, friendly people that make me feel welcome and at home.  Beautiful buildings and architecture and if you ever get tired of the city, you’re just a train ride away from a plethora of small country villages.

Dream vacation: I would love to wine taste my way through Italy.  Definitely on the to-do list of my life.

London Calling

London Calling

Obligatory super power question: What would it be and why?
Flying, no question.  Not only would you get places faster and NOT have to pay extortionate airline prices and sit next to chatty people, but you also gain a whole new perspective of life from above the crowd.  Plus, amazing party trick.

We’d like to take a moment with one of Click Communications’ founders, Mac McLean, to learn a little more about his roots and how he came to be where he is today.  In hindsight, a fireside chat was not the best choice as it’s 80 degrees outside and it’s a little warm in here.

What is your favorite thing about working at Click?
Narrowing down my favorite thing is tough, since I get to work with movies, the internet and my wife, all of which I loved long before starting Click, but if I had to choose just one thing it would have to be working with such an amazing team of people. Being a part of Click, while sometimes challenging, has been one of the most positive and supportive environments I’ve ever worked in.

What did you do before forming the Click team?
Before we started Click, I spent three years helping develop the online PR for Buena Vista Home Entertainment here in LA through Terry Hines & Associates, where I had been handling field promotions & publicity in the Northwest for Disney, DreamWorks, MGM and Focus since 1999.  My film promotional experience started even earlier that during my years in radio, setting up large promotional campaigns in Seattle since 1996.  I think the first screening I hosted was Schwarzenegger’s Eraser, where I first met long-time friend & Click board member Janice Lichtenwald.

What was your favorite job while growing up?
I’m torn, so I’m going to go with two of them.  In high school, I worked at a comic shop in Santa Barbara and being able to read all the comics you wanted to for free was pretty sweet.  Then in college, I worked at a video store in Seattle, and guess what?  I got to watch all the movies I wanted to for free.  Do you see an emerging trend here?  The moral of the story is:  Get a job involving your hobby or passion and then it isn’t really work.

Which work-related event has been the most fun for you to be involved in?
As a part of Click, I’d probably say my favorite thing was taking everyone to Comic-con for the first time last year.  I’m a big geek, so sharing the experience was a treat.  Solo, I’d have to say the “Lost” Season 1 DVD premiere in a jungle in Oahu with the entire cast.  That was pretty cool.

Who is your favorite celebrity that you’ve met?
I’m a big fan a character actors, so it usually makes my day when I get to meet & talk to people like William Fichtner, Zoe Bell, Judy Greer, Miguel Ferrer or Kevin McKidd.  And of course, they are all super nice.

Zoe Bell and Mac at the 2010 Streamy Awards afterparty

What is the best work advice you have ever received?
“Don’t come to me with a problem, come to me with a solution.”  This really speaks for itself.  I’ve always been a pretty good troubleshooter (which is handy with fast-breaking PR) but this is probably the best piece of advice I’ve ever received and I’ve held onto that and shared it repeatedly over the years.

If I looked in your DVR, PS3 or X-Box what would I find?
In no particular order: “Dr. Who,” “Inbetweeners,” Book of Eli, “Futurama” and Red Dead Redemption.  And that’s only because it’s summer. Ask me again in October and this list will be six pages long.  I watch a lot of TV.

Red Dead Redemption = Grand Theft Stagecoach

What book are you currently reading and what else might one find on your shelves?
I’ll admit, I read waaaaay too many comics.  My non-picture book habits are pretty light and crime-series related, usually for traveling.  But right now I’m on a stack of Jimmy Palmiotti’s Jonah Hex trades and the latest volumes of Scalped and DMZ.  Other things on the shelf include The Walking Dead, Fables, Fear Agent, The Boys and The Authority. And many, many more.

What was the last movie you saw that you absolutely loved?
Toy Story 3 was phenomenal in a lot of ways, on both a story and technical level.  And right before that we saw a showing of Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, which was one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a long time.

What websites do you frequent the most that aren’t necessarily work-related?
Oh, man.  This would be the longest post ever, so I’m just going to rattle off a handful, and no one get mad, because I am reading a hundred things a day and am all over the map.  And I’m not including all the daily staples like IMDB or Twitter, etc.  So, in no particular order:  FailBlog.org, Gamma Squad, Comics Alliance, Cracked and…CNN. What?  I’m not completely obsessed with entertainment.
