Its April already.  How time flies.  It’ll be Summer Movie Season before we know it!  In this week’s rundown of all things online, we have heaps of nerd news, the best of this year’s online April Fool’s Day gags, and of course cats.  Cause internet. Every year, websites and companies with a strong tech and web presence pull out all the stops to trump their competitors and offer the very best April 1st gag ever.  If you didn’t have time to scour the net, no need to worry, our friends at Film School Rejects collected the best in one place. Know any nerds?  Wanna make their heads explode?  Show them this picture.

Sure, it's kind of old. But still great!

Sure, it’s kind of old. But still great!

Fans of horror have an new Evil Dead to look forward to this weekend.  LA horror fans who’d rather live the action can start booking tickets now for the Great Horror Campout.  Sorry SF, Chi Town, and the Big apple. While not quite horror, the folks at Gritty Reboots have put their spin on Calvin and Hobbes.  And we gotta say, we’d watch the heck out of it!

There was so much news for TV fans this week.  History’s epic series “Vikings” was renewed for a second season.  As the 50th anniversary of BBC’s “Dr. Who” approaches, anglophiles scour tumblr and Twitter feeds for any news.  And boy has there been some.  Finally, rejoice never nudes!  Netflix has announced the date for new episodes of “Arrested Development!” This week, the entertainment world saw the loss of two incredibly influential people.  Carmine Infantino and Roger Ebert.  Infantino helped usher in Comic’s Silver Age and created some of the most recognizable superheroes and villains of all time.

Screen Shot 2013-04-05 at 1.04.31 PM Comics Alliance ran a great tribute here. Ebert is synonymous with Modern Film criticism.  Of course he was known to be wrong about films sometimes too. ;)

Last week, we at Click christened our new Office Digs with a party for some of our clients and friends.  If you weren’t there, you can check out the pics here. We’ll leave you with some cat cosplay.  You’re welcome.  Happy weekend!

Our Video Gamer friends on the East Coast (and those who ventured there from the West Coast) are enjoying PAX East.  Half the Click Staff is fully embroiled in March Madness.  And all of us have made it successfully to Friday!  With all that in mind, let’s dive into this week’s Click On This!

Sometimes it can be difficult to keep calm and carry on.  For those struggling, here’s a helpful of 22 things that happy people do differently.  Definitely food for thought.  Speaking of food AND thought, we discovered this not-quite-safe-for-work (due to language) blog: Thug Kitchen.  It’s definitely worth checking out for laughs and recipes.

Also worth checking out is today’s epic Shirt Woot offering.

Yeah. It glows in the dark!

Yeah. It glows in the dark!

While everyone at Click can get excited for nerdery like this shirt.  But when half the staff started talking about our brackets this week, the other half was all, “What are sp-orts?”  While it specifically deals with Football and not Basketball, this fantastic Penny Arcade strip takes the foreign seeming sp-orts and makes the concept relatable to our nerdier brethren.

While this is only a fan created piece, this epic CG poster from Greg Thomas makes us squee at the thought of Masters Of The Universe Legos!

tumblr_mk2eo0x7Ow1qcw9rdo1_500

Speaking of nerd fantasies, here’s two great ideas.  The first adds fuel to the nerd rumor from a while back that Peter Jackson woud like to direct an Episode of Doctor Who.  While some performers work for peanuts, Jackson seems willing to take a Dalek as his payment.  Screencrush makes a compelling case for why Jennifer Lawrence is the best choice to play Young Han Solo in the spinoff film from Lucasfilm and Disney.

For those tiring of Post-It Notes, Google announced via Blog this week that their new note taking app is now readily available for smart phones.  Take that pad and paper!

Those of you in the LA area with time on your hands tomorrow, should head up to Collector’s Paradise in Winnetka for an awesome Star Wars signing featuring Gabriel Hardman and Corinna Bechko.

Finally we’ll leave you with this awesome video from the new series Man At Arms, where a talented weapon-smith makes practical, fully realized versions of famous nerd weapons.  In the past he’s fashioned Finn’s sword, Batman’s Batarangs, and Odd Job’s killer bowler.  This week sees him tackle the famous Power Sword He-man wields.

Happy weekend!

Football! Superheroes! Jewelry! Dinosaurs!  All in this week’s guide to the awesomeness on the the internet.

While we bid farewell to this up and down NFL season, Pixar animator Austin Madison, offered a full series of pieces based on the most memorable confrontations.  Savvy fans will smile at all the pop culture jokes Madison slipped in.

For those six of you who didn’t watch the big game, which once again set new records over the weekend, you missed a few things.  Those things included this Will Ferrel gem, a blackout that some brands capitalized on to great effect, and a half time show that saw Beyonce’s publicist’s sad attempt to remove all unflattering photos of her client from the web.  This of course made said photos go viral, and led to such wonderful memes as this:

beyonce-she-hulk

Oh internet, you so crazy!

Unfortunately, it seems like the Justice League also can’t catch a break, as the newest rumors have Warner scrambling for answers after the recent script commissioned received less than favorable reviews.

Fear not though, if you’re looking to change the fate of the Justice League and the rest of the free world, a certain organization is stepping up their recruitment efforts.  We wonder if our expertise in PR will benefit their Mass Device Initiative.

This week, we also got wind of a few things we NEED.  Including this awesome Star Wars inspired cameo, these fantastic Marko Manev Super Hero Noir Prints:

And maybe the greatest dinosaur toy ever!  Please make a note as Click’s birthday IS coming up in May.

In other dinosaur related news — yes, it’s been a busy week for dinos — we’ve heralded the joy that is T-rex Trying multiple times before on this blog.  Those in the LA area can catch a signing and reading with the man responsible tonight at Skylight Books.  If you head out, look for us and say hello.  You know, when you are chortling.

We’ll leave you with a belly laugh in the form of this fake oscar campaign video for Anne Hathaway.

For our friends out East, stay warm and happy weekend!

Welcome to this February 1st 2013 Edition of Click On This, in which we ruminate on getting older and talk about the big event happening this weekend!

As card carrying geeks and nerds, we all get a little introspective at times.  Some of us Clicksters are Potterheads, some are Bronies, most can tell you the many difference between the Stars (both Wars and Trek) and all of us are supposedly grown-up.  Right?  Over at The Marysue, Becky Chambers offers some thoughts on why some of us seem to refuse to let our tastes “grow up” like the rest of the world.

For those looking to hang onto that childhood link, Bow Peeps offers some awesome hair accessories like this epic Wolverine inspired bow.

A bow that’s the best there is at what it does… and what it does is accentuate your new doo!

In gearing up for this weekend’s big event, we offer this teaser of the new Iron Man 3 trailer set to premier during some boring sports thing.

While Iron Man 3 may be one of the more highly anticipated super hero films, back in the late 90s, the world and burgeoning internet fan base was on pins and needles waiting for Super Man Lives.  By now, most know the film never made it to the screen.  Though most of the actual facts exist only as whispers and legends, one person aims to shed a little light with a kickstarter campaign to produce a documentary collecting all known information of the failed production.

Ever wonder what superheroes do with their pets?  Artist Phil Jones offers his thoughts.

We had him pegged for a Dog person…

For those who prefer more interaction with their superheroes, Game Informer has new info on the upcoming Lego Marvel Super Heroes Game.

Is that a mashup of two wonderful things in Sesame Street and Downton Abbey?!?!?  Yes.  Yes it is.

As if we didn’t love Jennifer Lawrence enough, her recent stopover at Jimmy Kimmel Live proved she’s entertaining even when sick and slightly drunk.  We forgive her the slightly drunk; it IS Kimmel after all.

Finally, for this week’s moment of Zen we offer Hamlet the pig and his quest for oatmeal.

Happy weekend!

This week the internet saw almost its entire feed hijacked by news from a galaxy far, far away.  But there were also other news items, images, and videos of note.  Welcome to this week’s Click On This!

The aforementioned news from that galaxy is that Star Trek Into Darkness helmsman JJ Abrams is set to step behind the lens for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII.  What will the film look like?  We can hazard a guess…

In stories that give us the feels, one young Batfan with leukemia got the thrill of a lifetime from Batman himself Christian Bale.  No these are not tears, why?

Could Facebook be making you miserable?  A new study suggests it just might be.

If you need a pick me up from the Facebook Blues, Netflix is filling its site with teasers for the upcoming “Arrested Development” Season 4.

For non-fans of the series in need of smiles, we offer (besides our distrust) this excellent shirt from our friends at Woot!  Just give it a second to sink in…

FP

Ever wonder why there isn’t a better selection of character underwear for girls?  One father’s novel approach to the issue is to just buy his daughter boys’ undies.  Truthfully no one uses the front flap anyway.

College humor has a fun image that perfectly captures the stages we all go through when our internet service is interrupted.

We don’t know what you drink.  But this beverage would seem like the obvious choice for geeks who shop for alcohol based on label alone.  At least until someone makes a Batman riding Bruce while fighting Darth Vader riding a velociraptor on The Grid.  ’Cause that would be amazing!

Good or bad, some of these “life hacks” are pretty ingenious!

Those who watch ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live know of his feud with star Matt Damon.  Damon finally gets his revenge.  We’ll leave with this video of his opening monologue.

Happy weekend!

Happy Friday, friends! We’ve successfully made it through another workweek, and you know what that means. It’s time for your weekly dose of interweb glory. This week we bow down to the folks at Mondo, join the fight to stop nerd-on-nerd crime, and give you two doses of heart warmth to get your weekend started off right!

Be still our Tarantino lovin’ hearts! This week, Lionsgate announced the November release of a ten disc/eight film Tarantino Blu-ray box set. Oh, and it gets better. The set comes with incredible artwork, courtesy of the talented folks at Mondo.

A thousand thank you’s to the geniuses behind the YouTube group “Bad Lip-Reading.” They worked their magic on The Hunger Games and it’s hilarious!

If, like us, you’re a fan of nerdy TV shows, but haven’t successfully convinced your loved ones to join in on the geeky goodness. Rest your troubled minds! Nerdapproved has assembled a “how-to” on effectively describing your favorite shows to help achieve your desired result.

Speaking of nerds, one of our favorites shares his disdain with geek-on-geek crime! “Can’t we all just live long and prosper?!”

What better way to celebrate the release of Bait 3D on DVD/Blu-ray than with a remote controlled shark?

It’s a bird…It’s a plane…It’s a SHARK!

Needless to say, it was a big week for Apple as they released iOS6 just a few days before the iPhone 5 became available for purchase. Techcruch discusses the highs and lows of the software upgrade.

Now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for! It’s time to send some zen, heart warmth, giggles and glee your way to lead you into your weekend with a smile:

“Stephanie Tanner” had Mr. Bear, “Linus” had his blanket. Be it a plush toy or pillow, if you grew up with a security blanket of your own, you can imagine how devastating it would be if your beloved friend were to go missing. Watch as one boy is reunited with his long lost toy, “Ah-Ah”. It’s okay, we cried too.

Watch out “Babe” and “Wilbur,” this amazing lifesaving pig is giving you a run for your money in the adorable department.

Have a great weekend!

Wow, where did the week go?  It’s almost as if this week was somehow shorter than last week.  I wonder why….

In this week’s edition we offer some serious cute, look forward to the possible primetime return of a certain Amazon, and are bemused by workplace team building.

We Clicksters make it no secret that we love comic books.  One of our favorite artists is Amy Mebberson.  Amy has illustrated books featuring the Muppets, Strawberry Shortcake, and several Pixar characters.  She has also created a wonderful series of comic strips called Pocket Princesses which routinely manages to make the famed Disney Princesses somehow more hilarious and adorable.  Of course, sometimes the strip sees other guest stars as is the case in the newest strip.

You can see more of Amy’s work here.

In other comics related news, this weekend Baltimore will host the appropriately titled Baltimore Comic Con.  While nowhere near as large as SDCC, it does boast an impressive list of creators and events.

We’ll admit that we owned both the Power Glove and Rob the Video Robot.  Yet somehow, THIS NES peripheral escaped our notice.

It appears that geek TV network G4 is poised to rebrand itself closer to the GQ brand as a “Men’s Interest Network”.  We thought that’s what Spike TV was supposed to be.

While we at Click consider ourselves a great team, we understand the need for team building on the corporate level.  Still, we’re pretty sure this isn’t the gold standard.

We enjoyed the badawesome that was the most recent attempt to bring Wonder Woman back to TV in her own series, we are glad to see that the CW now seems poised to give Diana another shot at primetime.

20th Century Fox had already done something extremely unique with the DVD/Blu-ray preorders for Prometheus.  Now it seems they’re poised to push the home entertainment envelope even further with HD downloads several weeks ahead of the DVD/Blu-ray release.  If other companies copy this model, things will become very interesting for the Home Entertainment marketplace.

We’re excited to see Liam Neeson back for Taken 2 this next month.  We also got a kick out of this hilarious mashup trailer.

Finally, if you haven’t check out Google’s doodle today, do yourself a favor and head over now.  Have a happy weekend!

It’s Friday again.  Time for a new Click on This!  In this week’s episode ooh and ahh to a talented pup, laugh with mom bloggers who get a taste of what it’s like to be a Disney voice, and thrill to the newest craze, the Zombie Run.

Last week Click took select Mom Bloggers for a special day at Disney, where they got a first hand look at what it takes to create the memorable voices for animated classics.

Speaking of Disney, if you ever wanted to dress like a Disney character in your daily life, but a bit more subtle, have we got the blog for you!

With all the attention Zombie Walks around the country have been getting, it was only a matter of tie, before the craze had it’s own evolution.

There’s something both adorable and bizarre about a pooch that barks the Game of thrones intro.

Never let it be said that the Click staff isn’t talented.  Click’s own Scott Neumyer is profiled on the Muck Rack.  And is the new Wired Geek Mom contributor also Click’s Dinah McLean?  Watch out interwebs, we’re everywhere!

We’ll leave you with this adorable moment of snuggly Zen.  Have a safe and happy Holiday weekend!

As the summer movie season comes to a close, this week’s installment of Click on This takes a look at some BIG casting news for some of next year’s anticipated releases, shares some pet parenting tricks, and looks at some awesome art.

If you’re like us, you LOVE awesome movie posters.  Artist Adam Rablais has an amazing selection of alternate movie poster designs available for sale in his Etsy store.

Sam Claflin.  First he was Finnick.  Then he wasn’t.  Now he is. For reals this time.  If you have no idea what we’re talking about, read the Hunger Games trilogy.  (After you finish Click on This of Course.)

As fans of Lost, we grew quite fond of Mr. Echo as portrayed by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.  So w’ere extremely excited by the announcement that he’s joining Thor 2 as the powerhouse villain Kurse.

At Click, we love our dogs.  But as all dog lovers know, even the best pups can be a handful sometimes. And since it’s nice to share a laugh about our lovable, if often infuriating animal friends, we present Dog Shaming.  Enjoy.

In comics this week it was revealed that Superman’s newest love interest is none other than Wonder Woman.  For those of you wondering how Lois Lane feels about all this, fret not.  In the “New 52″ Lois and Clark aren’t married or even dating.

We’d also like to let our readers know that this Sunday is the third annual Women Read Comics in Public Day.  So grab a book and get to readin!

We finish our comics news trifecta with this interesting article about superhero body physiques from some of the most celebrated male and female (yes, there ARE women working in Comics) artists of today.

What would Pokemon look like if it came from the mind of Tim Burton?  Artist Vaughn Pinpin answers that question with some inspired designs over on his tumblr.

We are saddened by the passing of Muppet performer Jerry Nelson.  Nelson performed and voiced some of our favorite Jim Henson characters, including The Trash Heap, Floyd, and The Count. Instead of being melancholy, we’d like to reflect on the endless hours of joy that Nelson brought to all of us, and leave you with this -

The Trash Heap has spoken indeed.

We’ll leave you with what we assume has Joss Whedon’s master plan all along courtesy of artist Will Sliney from the Gutters.

Have an awesome weekend Clicksters!

It’s Friday again.  And while we sadly won’t be spending the evening with the Tanners, we WILL be bringing you your weekly does of Click on This!  This week, we check in with champion of the studio system Joss Whedon, share our favorite Tumblr, and start getting pumped for Social Media Week in LA this year!

While Whedonites recognize their fearless leader for his continued bucking of the system, it seems that the man himself ISN’T too fond of independent cinema’s effect on his Blockbuster Boxoffice.

At Click we are fans of many of the awesome “one a day” T-shirt sites that proliferate the web.  We have plenty of shirts in our collection from Teefury, The Yetee, Ript Apparel, and even Threadless (not technically one a day, but they often have daily sales).  But this shirt may be one of our all time favorites.

It’s the thought bubble that sells it.  You can check out the shirt at Shirt Woot.

It also reminds us that we haven’t checked in with our favorite Tumblr in a while.  Do yourself a favor and check out the misadventures of T-rex and She-rex over at T-rex Trying for smiles, LOLs, and some good old fashioned, “Awwwwwww”s.  Our favorite remains T-rex Playing the Bongos.

A moment of somber, as we reflect on the passing of Geek icon Joe Kubert earlier this week.  Numerous websites and Blogs have paid tribute to the man who was a beloved illustrator and teacher.  We’re not artists, so we’ll just share our tribute via a fitting image crafted by one of comics greats himself.

When it comes to Comics, for fans it can often be hard to explain some of the more interesting character back-stories.  For fans in the know as well as the uninitiated, the folks over at LBFA! have created a hilarious and informative series Comics Everybody!  Their most recent offering tackles the convoluted history of Ms. Marvel.

Do you work in the social media space, or do you just want to get more likes and followers?  Chances are if, “yes” was your answer, you’ll see us at Social Media Week.  (Our entire online business model is REALLY just a front for learning all we can about being popular in cyberspace.)

This image reminds us all that we might need to wash our cars.  It’s also easily the best/nerdiest “Wash Me” we’ve ever seen on a car’s back window.

It wouldn’t be the internet without the cute, so prepare yourself for a double dose.

Here’s a baby elephant at an Oregon Zoo meeting a curious Sea Lion.

We leave  you with THE MOST ADORABLE Katniss Everdeen, well, EVER.

May the weekend be ever in your favor!
